Frequently asked questions
What is read-only sample mode?
Read-only sample mode is available when you download the app without the full unlock. It allows you to explore the
interface, view sample data, and understand the app's workflow without unlocking production, POS, reporting, or HACCP features.
How do I unlock the full app?
Open the app, navigate to Settings, and follow the in-app prompts to purchase the full unlock via the App Store.
The unlock is a one-time purchase and is managed through your Apple ID.
Can I export my data?
Yes. In Settings, Data Exchange provides two export/import tracks:
Catalog and Production Setup (products, recipes, currency, and shared defaults) and Reporting Data
(receipts, production history, closed days, and HACCP records). Regular iPad backups are still recommended for full recovery.
What if I lose my iPad or uninstall the app?
Data stored on your iPad will be lost if you uninstall the app without backing up. Ensure you have iPad backups enabled.
You can restore from a backup if you reinstall the app on the same or a new iPad.
Is my bakery data shared with anyone?
No. Boulangerie operates locally on your iPad by default. Your production, sales, and HACCP data does not leave your device
unless you explicitly choose to share or export it. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Does this sync with my accounting software?
Automated accounting integrations are not built in. You can export reporting datasets and transfer them
into your accounting or inventory workflows manually.
Can multiple staff members access the same bakery on different iPads?
Yes, with a local-first workflow. Each device keeps its own database, and teams can move setup/reporting data
between devices using export/import. This is not real-time cloud sync, but it supports production and back-office coordination.
Do I need WiFi to use Boulangerie?
No. Boulangerie is designed to run entirely offline on your iPad. WiFi is only required for app downloads, updates, and optional cloud backups through iCloud or Finder sync.
How accurate are the fermentation timers?
Timers use your iPad's system clock. Accuracy is consistent with iPad's built-in timing. We recommend using timers as a reference to track actual fermentation stages rather than strict endpoints, since dough behavior varies by temperature, humidity, and ingredients.
Does Boulangerie work offline?
Yes. The app is designed to work entirely offline on your iPad. No internet connection is required to run production tracking,
POS, recipes, or HACCP workflows.
What iPad models are supported?
Boulangerie requires iPadOS 26 or later. Check Apple's compatibility list for App Store apps to see which iPad models support this OS version.
Does Boulangerie run on Mac?
Yes. Boulangerie supports macOS through Mac Catalyst with the same operational workflow as iPad.
